The #GadsFamily was honoured to join the Mayor of Gravesham, Cllr John Caller, to pay tribute to those who lost their lives at war, in a private ceremony on Remembrance Sunday.
Former Senior Cadets and now Gad’s Hill contingent instructors, Portia Hunt and Matthew Dwyer represented the school as the Mayor laid a wreath to commemorate all those from the Borough who have given their life in defence of the country. Portia, 20, and Matthew, 18, acted as flag bearers alongside a comrade from the Gravesend Sea Cadets.
Although traditional Remembrance services couldn’t take place this year, the Mayor has been placing poppy wreaths at war memorials in nearby towns and villages. Poppy umbrellas are on display in Gravesend Borough Market and a poppy carpet is on show on Community Square.
