Seniors at Gad’s Hill School are taking part in a daily at-home reading initiative, proved to boost critical thinking skills and improve memory.
Reading is an important part of life at Gad’s Hill and the Senior English team is working with students from years 7 to 11 to provide reading tasks as part of their distance learning programme.
Every Senior has been challenged to read a book of their choice for at least half-an-hour each day, with may reporting they are enjoying it so much, the time flies by and the learning session continues for a lot longer.
A #GadsFamily virtual reading group, for all pupils, parents and staff, will be launched by the school during the Easter holidays. Selected texts will be available, for free, via the Kindle app and Audible.
Reading is proven to expand vocabulary; relieve stress; improve memory and focus; strengthen writing skills; enhance imagination and boost sleep – so join our Seniors and stay safe and keep reading!Posted on
