Year two classmates designed their very own puppets, after taking part in a science workshop at The Historic Dockyard Chatham earlier this month.

This term’s class topic is in textiles and the six to seven-year-olds worked together to create the pieces, using a variety of brightly coloured, and textured, materials and objects.

Inspired by their recent fact-finding mission at the naval museum, where they completed fun and exciting challenges with friends, the six to seven-year-olds were given free rein to make a figurine, with many choosing to model themselves or a favourite friend or pet.

Form tutor, Mr Patey, was very impressed with how well the cohort interpreted the creative brief and presented and evaluated their work:  “Taking part in in activities tailored to what we have been learning in class really boosted the children’s confidence and imagination – with some very impressive results.”
