To celebrate the end of a strong first term studying GCSE Food and Nutrition, Year nine students took part in a Christmas cupcake workshop.
The cohort spent an afternoon at The Unique Cake Company Cake School, where they baked and decorated four very impressive festive fancies.
The 13 to 14-year-olds learned how to make and use sugarpaste and buttercream, practiced their piping skills and got to grips with cake cutters and moulds.
Teacher, Miss Louise Tucker, said: “As always, the students took every opportunity to embrace the practical session and find out more about the theory of food preparation.
“We had a lovely day and left with some beautiful cupcake creations – after sampling a few while we were there of course!”
