Our Juniors welcomed more than 110 Kent school children to Gad’s this week, when they hosted a cross country contest in the school grounds.
Students aged between seven and eleven, from six local primaries, took part in Gad’s interschool cross country tournament, despite the very wet and muddy conditions.
Not letting the weather dampen their spirits, happy children from across the county, supported by their schools and families, raced each other round the Gad’s course, which is set in the school’s 12 acres of outdoor space.
Well done to all the schools who took part, especially overall winners, Spring Grove School, who gave an outstanding performance, and our very own Lois Rowswell, 8, who, after a brilliant run, ranked third in her age group.
PE teacher, Miss Sarah Ellis, said: “It was great to welcome so many children and their teachers to our school.
“Community events like today are a good way to get children together and encourage team spirit and healthy competition. All the children had beaming smiles as they crossed the finish line and are already looking forward to next year’s race!”
