Mrs Taylor’s year four form has written letters to Santa, after being inspired by their class text, ‘The Christmasaurus’ and posted them in Dicken’s very own re-commissioned letterbox, just outside the school.
The eight to nine-year-old classmates were challenged to use persuasive vocabulary and pen a Christmas wish list but the caring cohort has also been thinking about others this term.
Reading and discussing the popular children’s novel together has encouraged the children to consider its overarching theme of kindness. The characters have an extraordinary adventure, made even more special by spending time with family and friends.
Earlier in the week, whilst learning more about Remembrance Sunday, J4T crafted a poppy wreath to pay tribute to those who has lost their lives at war. The kind-hearted group made sure to include every child in the Junior school’s name to the decoration, before proudly displaying it in their classroom.
