Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition classmates created some tasty arachnid delicacies in today’s practical lesson!

The 14-15 year-olds were tasked with baking pizza dough sauce pots in the shape of a spider, to celebrate Halloween and to progress their dish design and layout skills.

Head of Food Preparation and Nutrition, Miss Rachael Baker, said:  “The group really embraced this week’s cooking assignment and many are planning to gift their dishes to younger siblings, or parents to use as a table centrepiece, tonight, on the supposedly scariest day of the year.”

As well as tasting delicious, the impressive end results look appetising, due to the high quality finish, and demonstrate how the Gad’s cohort continues to explore creative and appealing ways to present food.

In their final year, the students will be required to evidence the planning, preparation and cooking of high quality, complex skill dishes, so today’s assignment was not only a timely and tasty treat but great coursework practice.
