Junior artwork has taken pride of place alongside GCSE pieces outside the Headmaster’s study today.
The handiwork of three younger students now joins the portfolio of talented past and present Gadshillians.
Gad’s celebrates its art students’ successes by displaying their creations on walls around the school, for everybody to enjoy.
Proud Year six artists Peter and Louisa posed in front of their impressive mosaic self portraits, while Year five’s Charley presented his detailed and delicate Pointillism painting, which features small, distinct dots of colour applied in patterns to form an image.
Head of Art, Miss Rachael Baker, said: “From aged nine, Gad’s students have regular specialist art lessons, exploring a wide range of media and techniques, as well as researching, and drawing inspiration from, famous artists’ work.
“I continue to be very impressed by how enthused and engaged the Junior children are in our art and DT sessions. Their hard work has produced some excellent pieces and secures skills and knowledge needed in the Senior School, where we work towards securing more complex artistic challenges.”
Please feel free to pop in and view Gad’s artwork.
