Dressed as their favourite book characters, our Year four classmates, and their teachers, are celebrating Roald Dahl’s birthday with a packed day of themed activities.

This morning, the eight to nine-year-olds shared a story in Gad’s library while sipping on hot chocolate, just as Dahl’s loveable bookworm character Matilda did:  “She travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.”

Today’s itinerary includes an art lesson based on the works of illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, some ‘feats of calculation’ and ‘scientific miracles’ in maths class and creative writing and diary entry literary lessons.

The interactive workshops are based on this term’s form text ‘Matilda’, Roald Dahl’s bestselling fantasy fiction, featuring larger than life characters, with an inspiring theme of accomplishment over adversity.
