Year four classmates joined form tutor Mrs Jodie Page in a corridor combat to learn all about how the Tudor family came to rule.
After ‘arming’ themselves with the facts and figures about the civil wars fought in medieval England from 1455 to 1485, the eight to nine-year-old classmates were ready for the practical part of their lesson.
Together, complete with props, the class re-enacted the War of the Roses and its last significant fight of the 15th century, the Battle of Bosworth Field.
Mrs Page, who was ably assisted by Teaching Assistant Mrs Nina Spellar, said: “Role play really helps bring learning to life.
“The children had great fun and have secured the knowledge in a fun and interactive way, excited and ready for the next stage in our History topic.”
