In the traditional end of term Times Table Rockstars competition, it all went down to a single answer to see who was crowned Gad’s champion.
Twenty pupils from Years three to eight competed in a battle of the fastest finger. Students were challenged to solve on-line questions in a high-energy, call-and-response manner, with a rock music theme.
Gad’s is a member of the ‘Times Table Rock Stars’ (TTRS) community – an exciting and interactive method of mastering times tables.
Head of Maths, Mr Richard Harris, said: “Times Table Rockstars is an amazing resource at Gad’s that both engages and enthuses children into loving times tables.”
Year Four form tutor, Mrs Joanne Titler, added: “The pupils are so quick – faster than any teacher in the school!”.
The winners were: J3 – Arabella A; J4 – Isabelle T; J5 – Samuel O; Remove – Francesca B; Shell – Thomas N; L4 – Sukhmanvir A.
In the first round, Isabelle and Thomas were neck and neck with 278 questions answered correctly in three minutes. After another round they were still tied.
In the one minute sudden-death head to head the final score was 89-88 in Thomas’ favour so he was awarded the trophy.
