Our Junior classes worked together to solve problems on an enrichment day of team building activities.
The motto of the day quickly became ‘there’s no “I” in team’ as children were faced with mental and physical challenges such as a blindfolded maze bridge-making in the Forest School and school grounds.
Head of Juniors, Mrs Cullen reported the children grasped the mathematical concept of ‘the synergy of the team is greater than the parts and underpins success in the workplace and for life’ very well and went on to say:
“Teamwork is an essential skill which in today’s digitally centred world is often lost on children as they focus on their individual efforts rather than on collaboration. By facilitating challenges which require children to work in this way, we teach the whole child and ensure that empathy and increased learning capabilities are central to success.”
