Our Kindergarten classes spent a day in an indoor city finding-out first-hand what the working world is all about.
Children from Reception to Year two travelled to London to join a make-believe world at KidZania, a specialist play centre that blends learning and reality with entertainment.
The Gad’s youngsters chose from a number of real-life activities and tested their skills in a variety of professions, including Doctor, Dentist, Police Officer, Firefighter, Actor and Dancer.
Each child can earn and spend money, in ‘kidZos’ currency. As well as play, children are encouraged to consider responsibility and financial awareness and decide for themselves how best to manage their money throughout the experience.
Head of Kindergarten, Miss Victoria Wilson, said: “The children had a fantastic day and I was very impressed with their independent thinking and money skills.
“There was plenty of time for play and it was lovely to see the Gad’s children pretending to ‘work’ alongside each other in such a unique ‘real word’ environment.”
