Our J5 class is finding out more about Victorian England and the River Thames today, on a visit to Museum of London Docklands.

The 9-10-year-olds classmates are studying the history of the river and are currently walking through Canary Wharf, to compare today’s Thames with how it was in the 1800s.

The cohort has been reading Street Child by Berlie Doherty, an unforgettable tale of an orphan in Victorian London, based on the boy whose plight inspired Dr Barnardo to found his famous children’s homes, this term.
