Watch our students talk about life at Gad’s this Sunday, 14th April, on BBC One at 11am.

Gad’s features in the BBC’s new ‘Walks of Life’ series, which explores the cultural and spiritual narratives that can be found throughout the Great British countryside.

Presenter Mehreen Baig walks in the footsteps of the county’s most famous son, Charles Dickens and finds out how the Kent landscape and the childhood experiences he had there would go on to influence not just his writing but his entire outlook on morality, ethics and social justice.

Along the way, Mehreen learns about the great author and his beliefs. She visits the setting for the opening scenes of Great Expectations in the Kent marshes, the local pub where he drank, the parish church where he worshipped and of course the home where he died, Gad’s Hill House.
