Our Junior cadets spent the night in Gad’s Hill Place to find out more about Charles Dickens.
The 19-strong group of Year 6s joined their teachers for a sleepover in the great author’s former home.
After enjoying hot dogs in the conservatory, the cohort set-up base camp in the library, before braving the dark to play ‘Capture the Flag’ in the school grounds and toast marshmallows on the Forest School campfire.
The intrepid explorers toured the house after dark and were challenged to solve mini murder mysteries, as well as take a quiz about Dickens’ life and literary works.
On retiring to the library for a movie and sleep, the students reflected on an ‘enlightening’ and ‘fun’ evening and are hoping the overnight excursion will become a Gad’s tradition for many more Juniors after them.
