Our Art, DT and Food Nutrition GCSE students visited Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter to find out how an author’s ideas are turned into reality on a film set.
The Gad’s team learned about the work of the thousands of artists, carpenters, joiners and visual effects experts who helped turn author J. K. Rowling’s fantasy novels into a series of eight films.
Students were able to view first-hand drawings and design ideas for each character, consider textile and fashion development of every outfit and also explore early paper and wooden models that were scaled-up and used in the films.
Gad’s Art and Design and Technology teacher, Miss Rachael Baker, said: “We were all blown-away by how realistic and detailed the props were.
“The students left inspired and keen to use some of the techniques and ideas they had seen in action during the day.”Posted on
