Our KG and Junior children are enjoying meeting new born chicks after they have hatched in school.
Together with their teachers, a 17-strong group of Juniors collected fertilised eggs from Christmas Tree Farm in Orpington and have been caring for them in an incubator in a classroom.
School Council members, from Reception to Year 6, voted to incubate and rear the chicks after raising money to buy the eggs at a school Christmas fair.
Most have hatched, into a variety of breeds, and are safe and warm in Mrs Piszczek’s form room.
