Our Year six students spent time with Rosie the pug to celebrate their success in an international reading scheme.

Gad’s Juniors are part of the of the ‘Accelerated Reader’ community and the Remove classmates chose to read, and share cake, with Rosie as a reward for their reading skills and efforts.

Class teacher Mrs Titler said:  “I didn’t expect reading to my mum’s pet to be the chosen prize for winning the reading competition but the children were thrilled when Rosie accepted their invite!

“Animals can be the perfect companions to enjoy books with and Rosie certainly liked the fuss, and the stories!”

‘Accelerated Reader’ is a powerful tool for monitoring and managing independent reading practice while promoting reading for pleasure.
