Our Y9 classes spent a day at Thorpe Park finding out more about the forces of rollercoasters – and having fun of course!
The classmates completed energy calculations similar to those that they will have to answer as part of their Science GCSE. They used real data from rollercoasters at the park and also impressed the staff with their prior knowledge of the subject.
Head of Science Mrs Claire Fletcher said: “Applying science to real life is an excellent way for the students to realise the value and real world use of the work they do in class.
“I am pleased to report that behaviour was impeccable throughout the day and they had so much fun that they all slept on the coach home! All together a great success.”
