Children from Gad’s Hill ran a craft fair to help raise money for the school’s Kindergarten and Junior School Council.

The team of 5-11 year-olds ran arts and crafts mini workshops at the after-school event, where classmates and their families were able to buy and take home their creations.

Year One teacher Miss Victoria Wilson said:  “The children take their council responsibilities very seriously and worked well together to provide activities that even our Nursery children could enjoy.

“It was lovely to see them help friends with the many gluing and glittering challenges and I was also impressed by their money skills when working out what change to give parents.”

The School Council is a made up by a group of children from years one to six, who get together to make decisions about things that matter to them and their peers.

The children will decide what the nearly £100 profit will be spent on later this term.  Suggestions so far include more equipment for Gad’s new Community Forest School or a contribution towards a climbing wall.
