Our Year 2 class took part in a nature scavenger hunt as part of this term’s topic on plants, animals and habitats.

The excited explorers took the short walk to the wild meadow at Gad’s Hill Farm where they were met by farmer Mr Warnett and his friendly canine companions Freddie and Pip.

The children found out lots of information about how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants.

As well as taking part in a scavenger hunt, they searched for mini-beasts and used their senses to identify different leaves, flowers and wildlife.

After a picnic lunch, they returned to school armed with facts and stories about their outdoor adventure.
