Y10 student Billy Cox has been praised for his ‘can-do’ attitude during a week’s industry placement with a leading scaffolding firm.

Billy, 14, is spending five days with award winning scaffolding and access specialist GKR Scaffolding.

Working out of the company’s London office, Billy’s manners and enthusiasm have been praised by Group Director Mr Lee Rowswell:  “He’s a great lad and has been asking lots of questions and taking notes.

“Billy has been working with different departments, including marketing and engineering and my team has been equally impressed with him.  He has attended lengthy technical meetings and demonstrated strong communication and concentration skills.

“Today he is on a site visit in Tottenham – and for an avid Arsenal fan that’s real commitment to the world of work!”

“Billy is a credit to his family and to Gad’s.”

This year, our Y10s have work placements in a wide range of professions including banking, hospitality management and teaching.

Gad’s Head of Careers and Work Related Learning, Miss Sameena Rana said:  “Work experience is invaluable for our students.  They are able to find out more about working life and we are so grateful to the many employers for providing them with real-world opportunities.”
