Our Year one children spent a day play-acting as princesses, witches and knights at a drama workshop at Leeds Castle.

The KG classmates took part in ‘The Swan Princess’ at the 900 year-old castle, set in 500 acres of glorious grounds and gardens.

The children dressed-up as mean witch ‘Baba Yaga Spindleshanks’, gnomes, knights and other fun characters to act out the traditional fairy-tale about magical transformations, broken promises and friendship and loyalty.

After, they were treated to a tour of the ‘lovliest castle in the world’, which was last inhabited in the 1970s by Anglo-American heiress, landowner and hostess Lady Baillie.

K1 teacher Miss Wilson said:  “As always the children were beautifully behaved.

“They had great fun and were able to use the skills they have gained from our dance and drama lessons at school to very good use.”
