Our year four class met WW2 evacuee Mrs Doyle when she visited the school to talk about her wartime memories.

Mrs Doyle regaled an entranced J4 with her wartime memories, from being evacuated from London with her mother, to watching air raids and ‘dog-fights’ above Kent as the Blitz and the Battle of Britain raged.

J4 teacher Mr Waring said:  “The children always love history being brought to life.

“Mrs Doyle was able to share her memories of life in the countryside and rationing with the children, who were taking lots of notes.”
