Well done to Haig athletes Keira Hanks, of J4, and J5C’s Ella Cox who set new records before celebrating with their House as Haig was triumphant at this year’s Junior sports day.

Nine year-old Keira shaved nearly a second off the fastest 150 metre sprint set in 2012 with a winning time of 25.89 seconds.

Equally impressive was J5C’s Ella Cox’s record breaking 80 metre sprint.  The 10 year-old beat the current 2014 record by one twentieth of a second, with a winning time of 11.98 seconds!

And well done to Cailan Turner of Remove B.  The 11 year-old finished the 600 meter race in one minute 58 seconds, breaking the previous record set in 2008.

Well done to Haig’s Rebecca who was awarded the prestigious Junior Victrix Ludorum and Cailan (Beatty) who received the Junior Victor Ludorum – both were praised for their athleticism and commitment to the school’s sports teams and lessons.

The overall results were: Haig, 329 points; Wellington 318 points and Beatty 268 points.
