Year 10 student Cameron Murray finished 39th out of 256 runners in a 10km charity run – and beat his dad, also a keen runner!

Cameron, 15, has been taking part in weekly fitness sessions as part of his The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and completed the hilly course across Maidstone villages in 50.02 minutes.

As well as raising money for the Heart of Kent Hospice, he donated some of the sponsorship money to Team Charlie, on behalf of Wellington.

Cameron is training hard and hoping his impressive track record will earn him a place in the Bedgebury Pinetum 10km race in May.

Well done, and good luck Cameron.
