Our K1 class has been busy practising some special songs for the Gad’s Mother’s Day Service.

The young classmates have learned all the words to ‘Supermum’ and also a jolly springtime melody, complete with actions.

Coached by the school’s Director of Music Mr Stone, the children are also learning how to play the marimba.

Mr Stone said: “Music is such a gift and it’s a pleasure to help the youngsters on a journey that I hope will last a lifetime.

“They have taken to both singing and playing the instruments well and I am very much looking forward to hearing them perform for their mums next week.”

K1 teacher Miss Wilson added: “The children really look forward to their music lessons and have been working very hard to remember all the words and actions.

“I would like to thank Mr Stone for his encouragement, enthusiasm and patience.

“Thank you also to Maintenance Manager Mr Mark Tassell, for crafting some custom-made platforms and steps so even the littlest children in our class can reach, see, play and of course, enjoy the marimbas.”
