Our Under 11s rugby squad is celebrating a seven try to nil victory after the latest ISA (Independent School’s Association) junior inter-school fixture – making the boys unbeaten for the fourth consecutive year.

The Gad’s side triumphed over Ashford Preparatory School at the away game, in front of proud Games teacher and coach Mr Jelfs and loyal and elated parents.

Mr Jelfs describes the classmates as a ‘force to be reckoned with’ consisting of strong runners and ‘formidable’ tacklers.

The boys were introduced to rugby aged eight. There was healthy competition for a coveted place on the team, with high-tempo practice sessions and players displaying a skill set far beyond their years.

Mr Jelfs went on to say: “In my 36 years of teaching, I have never seen a group of boys so keen to develop and perform.

“They have a strong team bond, very much supported by the unwavering commitment of their parents, who travel to matches near and far, in all weather!”

As well as their regional success, the Gad’s team also recently won the ISA National Schools’ Plate.
