Our choir paid tribute to Charles Dickens at a special service to celebrate his life at Rochester Cathedral.

The Gad’s annual choral Evensong was held in the cathedral’s Quire and was attended by proud parents, staff, governors and guests.

Gad’s choir and soloists sung a selection of hymns and Psalms and Shell pupils gave readings and led the prayers before laying a wreath at the Dickens Memorial.

In a speech to the congregation, Headmaster Mr Craggs praised all the performers. He went on to reflect on the 145th anniversary of Dickens’ death and the impact his work continues to have on the school’s students.
