Gad’s Hill was honoured to welcome the Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers into school this Wednesday (18thJanuary) under the direction of Warrant Officer First Class Bandmaster Matthew Speight.
The band gave a marvellous display of their marching and musical talent as the pupils, staff, parents and members of the schools Combined Cadet Force (CCF) watched on.
The Royal Engineers will soon be supporting and tutoring the Gad’s Hill Detachment Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers when the school receive their own fantastic new drums that have been paid for by the Friends of Gad’s Hill!
CCF Instructor, Second Lieutenant, Mark Lamb said: “We are very fortunate to enjoy a unique partnership with the Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers. Our cadets are very excited about forming their own marching band in the near future and hope that they will be able to live up to the incredibly high musical standards set by the Royal Engineers.”
