Gads’ maths stars on course to score GCSE a year ahead of schedule

Title Bar Top Independent 2011

Pupils at Gad’s are yet again celebrating a very strong set of early entry GCSE Mathematics results.

After capping off a tremendously successful 2011, when terms such as ‘outstanding’ and ‘excellent’ were used to describe the school in a glowing inspection report, the New Year at Gad’s has kicked off in a similar fashion as six Year 10 students achieved A*-B grades after sitting their early entry Module 2 Mathematics exam.

Kieran Lamb, Christina Acey, Christian De Grussa, Rachel Williams, Danielle Gibbs and Abbie Tutt achieved these fantastic results – a year earlier than most GCSE pupils - after dedicating a considerable amount of their own time to attending after school Maths lessons and revision.

Taken back in November, Kieran and Christina scored an outstanding A* on their papers, while Abbie and Christian achieved A grades. Rachel and Danielle did well to score B grades.

The results will see the pupils well on course to achieving their full GCSE Mathematics a year ahead of schedule.

“All of the pupils who entered the exam achieved grades to be proud of – they achieved this with little help and a lot of determination, reflecting the schools focus on hard work and its aim of encouraging pupils to achieve to the best of their abilities,” said Maths teacher Bridget Ostrehan.

“I am delighted with these results and would like to congratulate them all on their success. These results will enable the students to take the next important step towards gaining first-class GCSE grades.”

The hard work doesn’t stop here though as in March some of these pupil’s classmates will sit module 2 in an attempt to chase fantastic benchmark set by the six maths whizzes.

Joseph Warrilow, Charlotte Ellis, Elleanor McAllister and Zak Warwood are not far behind reaching their Mathematics GCSE early, having already achieved A grades in Module 1.

Everyone is right behind these bright, enthusiastic and determined pupils and eagerly anticipates further news of success in this subject.
