Cadets join villagers in march for the fallen
Members of the Gad’s Combined Cadet Force were once again out in force in support of fallen servicemen and women, joining members of the local community in a moving Ceremony of Remembrance on Sunday (13th November).
Cadets from the School paraded for a mile, led by Headmaster and Contingent Commander David Craggs, reaching their final destination of St. John’s Church War Memorial, Higham where they paid their respects. In a sombre ceremony,Senior Cadet and Joint Deputy Head of School Jake Smith laid a wreath and a two minute silence was observed in memory of the servicemen and women, who have given their lives since in combat.
The cadets then re-joined the Colour party in a flag procession and met local war veterans before starting the second leg of the march back to the School.
Many veterans and members of the local community complimented the cadets on their high standard of turnout.
This ceremony followed the School’s participation in the Annual Service of Remembrance in Gravesend on Armistice Day.
