Saturday 1st September 10am - Noon 

Held at Bat and Ball Cricket Club, Gravesend, more than 15 schools competed for the title of regional champions.
 

More than 2690 items ranging from tinned, powdered and dried food to tea, coffee, fruit juice and vegetables were donated by the pupils and their families over the past two weeks. 

The children were introduced to lots of problem solving exercises that helped them to learn the importance of staying within specified boundaries and working together in a team.

Last Friday night (23^rdNovember) the group of twenty intrepid adventurers, their teachers, parents, family and friends got together to help generate the £2500 per child required to send them on their Alaskan escapade.

Housed within historic home of Charles Dickens and its surrounding grounds, the annual Friends Fayre captured the Christmas cheer in even the most decided of Scrooges!  

Kindergarten pupils shared  fun times challenging each other as to who could throw their snowball the furthest showing that they can enjoy school whatever the weather!  

But shoppers in Gillingham and Bluewater were full of good tidings after they were brought an extra dollop of Yuletide cheer by carol-singing school childrenbased at Gad’s Hill Place, Higham theformer home of Charles Dickens, whose novel, ‘A Christmas Carol’, is a festival staple.

The cathedral was filled to the brim for this event, with people amazed by the high standard of reading from pupils in the Kindergarten, Junior and Senior school.

"Be our Guest" for this enchanting Broadway-style musical of "a tale as old as time" for all ages. Relive all the romance and magic of the classic Disney film in this elaborately staged production that brings to life the classic love story of Belle and the Beast, and features Disney character favorites like Gaston, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and more.

The class of five and six year-olds chose what type of puppet they wanted to make, selected their own materials , then carefully crafted their puppets using different tools, techniques and their super imaginations!

Proud parents from both the Junior and Senior School joined teaching staff and special guest judges at the showcase on the 17^thJanuary where more than 100 up and coming musicians - aged between seven and sixteen years old - dazzled the audience at the Royal Dockyard Church, Chatham.

Little ones from Kindergarten’s year 1 and 2 classes were treated to a wonderful trip to Higham Village’s own, very local, Gad’s Hill Farm as part of their study of Harvest.

Twenty teens from the Upper and Lower Fifth (Years 10 and 11) and their tutors travelled to Le Mans in the Loire Valley, for the now well-established five-day annual senior school French residential trip.

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the School, in Higham, learnt of the sudden, untimely and unexplained death of one of its Year 11 students, sixteen-year-old Charlie Booth, who was fatally injured at his home on Friday 8^thMarch.

The first match of the season for the Gad’s Under Thirteen 7- a-side rugby team was against St Lawrence College, Ramsgate and was once again, an inspiring performance by our sportsmen!

The death of the popular 16-year-old prompted an outpouring of grief among his fellow classmates.

A team of Gad’s Under 16s, who had played alongside Charlie Booth, battled it out at the Independent School’s Association (ISA) National Rugby 7’s Championships at Maidenhead RFC in his memory.

TV presenter and social anthropologist Dr. Mary-Ann Ochota paid a special visit to pupils as part of their study of communication and what it means to be ‘human’.

Designed to celebrate learning and creativity, the Spring bonanza at the Dockyard Church, Chatham, gave Kindergarten pupils the opportunity to show off their top acting and musical skills in front of their parents and family.

This week, Junior school children helped by their teachers and maintenance staff, have been moving out of their old classrooms and into the new ones, and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience!

The Kindergarten class continued the seasonal merriment by playing and dancing in the brilliant sunshine.

Set for the first time in the new school hall, experienced musicians Sean Farrelly and Katey Durkin, joined proud parents and teaching staff as special guest judges at the festival, where more than 100 up and coming musicians - aged between eight and sixteen years old – showcased their talents.

Through the use of colourful storybook 'Teddy Takes a Tumble', a special visitor to the Kindergarten - Mrs Dowle - taught the children basics of how to stay safe while travelling in cars.  

Monday the 13^th May was no ordinary Monday for the children of Remove (Year 6), as well as the teachers. We were off on a four night, five day extravaganza to Kingswood Education Centre in the Isle of Wight!

Inspectors who visited the school over the past few days said pupils’ overall achievement was ‘good’.

After capping off a tremendously successful 2011, when terms such as ‘outstanding’ and ‘excellent’ were used to describe the school in a glowing inspection report, the New Year at Gad’s has kicked off in a similar fashion...
