‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind’

Title Bar Removes trip to Kinsgwood

‘Healthy body, healthy mind’ is the motto of Kingswood Education and Adventure Centre and at Gad’s we are inclined to agree!

Learning outside the classroom is an important aspect of education and 33 pupils from Remove took the opportunity to develop valuable skills at a team building day at Grosvenor Hall in Ashford.

Following the great success of J4’s trip to Kingswood, the pupils in Remove were excited to experience the centre for themselves!

The pupils took part in challenging new activities such asquad biking and problem solving. They used their newly acquired team building skills in an Indoor Laser Quest to work together to protect a ‘leader’.

The 3G swing was another chance for pupils to show off what they had learnt, as the class worked together to lift each other towards the top of the swing and encouraged their classmates to go higher. It was a great opportunity for students to conquer their fear of heights and test their nerves as they had to release themselves and feel the force of gravity in the swing back down.

Teacher Mrs. Jackie Frier, who went on the trip, said ‘It was wonderful to see how well the groups interacted as a team and how they improved as the day went on. It was especially enjoyable to watch some pupils grow in confidence on the 3G swing as they allowed themselves to go higher and higher. Overall some very useful skills such as decision making, leadership, initiative and problem solving were learnt by all.

Once again I was impressed by the Remove’s behaviour and conduct throughout the trip and would like to congratulate them on their excellent representation of the school. I look forward to taking them on their next trip away!’
