Gad's cadets recognise Armed Forces Day
Nine cadets took part in the Gravesham Armed Forces day parade this week. Armed Forces day is an annual event where the country recognises those currently serving in the Army, RAF and Navy as well as those who have previously served.
The cadets were tasked with helping veterans from all three of the Armed Services raise six flags outside the Civic Centre in Gravesend.
Cadet Oliver Danaher said, ‘I was honoured to be able to do this. I have always enjoyed CCF but this really made me think about why I wear this uniform every week and how important it is that I am allowed to wear it. Meeting the veterans was great and I now have even more respect for what they have done and what people who are serving now, are doing for their country ‘
Cadets who took part were as follows: Cadet Sgt. Beau Mehmet, Cdt.Abbie Tutt, Cdt.Oliver Danaher, Cdt.Harry Penman, Cdt.Harry Pattison, Cadet Lance Corporal Hayley Russell, Cdt. Harry Walters, Cdt. Harminer Samrai, Cdt.Lance Corporal Molly Wardsynski.
