Messing about on the river

Members of the CCF got very wet on the river Medway yesterday when they joined the Royal Engineers Boat Operations Team for the afternoon.

The cadets were shown the ropes on two boats, both of which the Royal Engineers use in operational theatres across the world.

Cadet Harry Howell said, ‘That was better than any rollercoaster I have been on, it was brilliant’

Also on the trip with Harry was Cadet Charlotte Ellis who said, ‘We didn’t want to get off, we were having such an amazing time. Everyone had on waterproofs but we still got soaked through, I loved it!’

Our thanks goes to WO2 Andy Poole and his team for putting on the event, and for inviting us back next year. The trip is open to all members of the CCF, and based on the fun that was had yesterday, competition for a place on next year’s trip will be fierce!
