Praise for Gad's leadership at CCF competition
Congratulations to the seven students who took part in the ‘CCF 4 Div skills Competition’ at Crowborough camp this weekend.
The cadets took part in a range of stands including air rifle shooting, map and compass and signals, all designed to test their military knowledge, team and leadership skills.
‘Team Gad’s’ took on teams from other independent schools and grammar schools, many of whom were made up of 6th formers with many years of experience in the CCF. Despite this our team performed well and were commended on their enthusiasm and undaunted effort. Leading the team for the competition was Jack Fullman, who was recognised by a number of adult instructors, from other schools, for his excellent leadership skills.
There are always lots of opportunities for cadets to take part in CCF activities outside the school’s regular and extracurricular CCF training, and all cadets are encouraged to volunteer for activities that appeal to them or perhaps activities they have never tried before.
Cadet Molly Wardzynski , said ‘ This was a brilliant way to finish the school holiday, it’s great fun but also a real challenge at the same time. We met loads of people from other schools , and you feel really proud of yourself for taking part , I will definitely be going again next year’.
Taking part on the day were Jack Fullman, Jadie Russell, Hayley Russell, Molly Wardzynski,Jake Smith, Keiran Lamb and Harry Howell.
Keep an eye on the CCF notice board for more opportunities or speak to any member of CCF staff if you are keen to get involved more.
