Gad's 'Sports Relief' run raises over £300 in an hour

Congratulations to everyone who took part in last Friday’s Sport Relief Fun Run. To date the school has raised just over £300, not bad for 60 minutes of fun after school. Students from across all the year groups laced up their trainers, dug out their crazy socks and donned their outrageous wigs to take part in the run around the school fields.

Thank you to Wendy Black from the PE department for putting the event together and also to the ‘Friends’ who provided the much welcomed snacks and drinks after the run.

Our £300 will be added to the £29,000,000 raised in total by Sports Relief and could be going to projects like the Sunlight Development Trust in Gillingham who provide a football club for disadvantaged children, so they can build their confidence and learn the essential skills of teamwork.

Over the year Gad’s Hill supports a number of local and national charities, mainly through our school house system. There are some great charity events coming up in the near future, watch this space for more details.
