Weather Update Fri 8th Jan

School plans to open on Friday 8th Jan. However, in case of any change in plans please check for updates via parental text message system and the website early on Friday morning.

The main roads (M2, A2, A226) have been clear for much of Thursday 7th. A forecast of snow on Thursday afternoon and early evening did not materialise. Key personnel have been into school on Thursday to clear paths, ensure the heating and systems are operational and to prepare the school to enable it to open on Friday.

The weather forecast predicts some light snow flurries in the early morning of Friday but it is expected that the main roads will be unaffected. Most of Friday is forecast to be clear and sunny!

At 0630hrs on friday an inspection will take place of the school and approach roads. At this stage we are assuming that the school will open. However, if road conditions have deteriated again then it may be necssary to enforce a further closure in which case parents will be informed by text and web-site update between 0630 - 0700. Thank you for your patience and forebearance over the past few days. It is tricky trying to weigh up the conditions and come to the correct decision. Hopefully we get it right most of the time. DGC
