Gad's Cross Country Success

On Friday 26th February 14 Gad's students took part in the Independent Schools Association National Cross Country championships held at Princethorpe College in Rugby.

The championships were for elite runners from throughout the UK, with only the best ten runners from 8 regions across the country qualifying for each category.

Our boys and Girls were representing London & The South and the following students took part;U11 girls- Isabelle Lane & Rebecca Daly,U14 girls- Piper Hudson & Brigitte Schweitzer,U14 boys- Zac Warwood, Lewis Lovell & Jack Baldwin,U16 girls- Holly Black & Leonnie Wallace, U16 boys- Jordan Smith
Over 16 girls- Rebecca Johnston, Felicity Sparks & Priya Whaid, Over 16 boys- Adam Brown.

Gad's provided the biggest representation from one school, with students running in every race bar one. In addition, many of our runners were amongst the youngest competitors in their respective category.

Despite this, and the dreadful weather conditions, our runners performed exceptionally well. Team captain Adam Brown provided great leadership at the start of each race motivating our runners and keeping spirits up in the rain.

To qualify for this national event is a fantastic individual achievement for every one of these outstanding athletes.
