Gad’s snowmen help Y5 English students

Our J5 classes built snowmen this morning as part of their English class.

Class teacher Mrs Cullen made the sure the children were wrapped-up warmly before venturing out onto the school field for the chilly lesson!

Working in house teams, the classmates were challenged to create their very-own snow person and imagine what it would be like if it came to life.

On returning to class, they wrote a story, focusing on dialogue to develop character, using imaginative vocabulary for the reporting clause and adverbs.

Mrs Cullen said:  “The children were so excited about the snow, it seemed only fair to incorporate it into today’s learning.

“They have produced some fantastic pieces and had great fun working together.”
