Schoolchildren as young as six-years-old put on a concert celebrating how music can bring people of all ages together.
More than 80 Juniors and Seniors from Gad’s Hill performed a variety of instrumental and vocal pieces, in the school’s theatre, to proud parents and friends of the independent Higham school.
Highlights of the event included a stunning interpretation of ‘Tubular Bells’ on marimba, as well as a rousing rendition of ‘Swing Low Sweet Chariot’ from the full ensemble.
Gad’s Director of Music Mr John Stone said: “It was a wonderful evening and all the children played and sang brilliantly.
“Our musicians range not only in age but ability and experience, and for some this was their first recital.
“The comradery between the peers is uplifting – each child has something special to bring, be that their first tentative steps on the drum kit or an enchanting voice honed from years of practice.”
Mr Stone went on to thank parents for their continued commitment to supporting their children’s talents.
