Wellington basketballers help childrens’ charity

This year’s Wellington House fundraising kicked off this week with a Senior School basketball tournament to raise money for, and awareness of, House charity ‘YoungMinds’.

YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.

Wellington pupil Harry Godding worked hard to organise the tournament with Head of House Isabella Webb and a group of willing helpers providing ample refreshments for players and spectators.

The teams taking part were well matched but the U5 boys’ team consisting of Harry Gardner, Harry Godding, Jayden Yusuf, Cameron McColm and Olumide Babatunde proved to be too skilled for their opponents and won each game leading them to overall glory.

A big thank you also to Mr Lavery and Mr Tyler for officiating.

With money still to come in Miss Rana believes the tournament has raised over £50, a flying start for the House.

Keep up the good work!
